January 24, 2023 – Business professor Dr. Frank Christopian has been honored by his peers with Eastern Florida State College’s Faculty Mentoring Award.

Christopian, who teaches Business in the Bachelor‘s Degree program on the Melbourne Campus, was cited for his contributions to the college in many areas during 2022.

“Dr. Christopian exemplifies dedication, commitment and working closely with others in everything he does,” said Dr. Randy Fletcher, Vice President for Academic and Student Affairs and Chief Learning Officers.

“Our college is a better place – and our students and other faculty members benefit – because of his  singular focus on higher education.”

Christopian was praised for his philosophy of “being a consistent resource and focal point for information to all new faculty and providing knowledge and technical support for newcomers to EFSC.”

The award honors a mentor from the Faculty Mentoring Program, which is designed to help ease the transition into the college and provide new faculty members with a one-on-one resource person to work with in their field. Christopian was nominated for the 2022 award by his mentee Dr. Brandon Smith.

Christopian joined the college in 2009 as an adjunct faculty member and joined the ranks of full-time faculty in 2011.

Outside the classroom, he has been a continuous member of the Academic Council since 2014, and a long-time member of the Curriculum Development Committee.

He has developed 29 new courses during his time at the college, including virtually all courses for the Bachelor’s Degree Program in Organizational Management, and new courses in other programs as well.

The honor includes a $1,000 award funded through the generosity of donors to the Eastern Florida State College Foundation.
