On September 7, 2025, Haridopolos expressed condolences over the death of Ron DiMenna. He wrote, “I am deeply saddened to learn of Ron DiMenna’s passing. As the founder of Ron Jon Surf Shop, he created a cultural cornerstone in Cocoa Beach and a global brand that celebrates the spirit of this community and brought surfing to the masses. Later on September 8, Haridopolos discussed his stance on criminal justice reform. He stated, “I’ve been fighting against dangerous soft-on-crime policies my entire career.
Back in 2004, when I served as Chairman of the Florida Senate Committee on Criminal Justice, a bill came up that would have let juveniles convicted of serious crimes out early, putting our communities”.
