65 percent of applicants to the Florida Institute of Technology were admitted for fall 2018

At the Florida Institute of Technology, 93 percent of undergraduate students are traditional students - age 24 or younger - and 71 percent are male, according to the latest disclosure from the U.S. Department of Education.

The four-year private not-for-profit institution in Melbourne enrolled 6,271 students in fall 2018, including 3,660 in undergraduate and 2,611 in graduate programs, data shows. 5.7 percent of undergraduates transferred from another college or university.

42 percent of undergraduates are residents of Florida, and 47 percent are residents of other states. 10 percent are citizens of foreign countries.

The undergraduate student body is comprised mostly of students who identify as white (47 percent) and Hispanic or Latino (9 percent).

The school admitted 65 percent of the 9,313 students who applied for fall 2018. Of those who were admitted, 13 percent enrolled.
