Upper Elementary & Middle School Spanish Specialist
Reports directly to the Department Head and/or Lead Teacher(s) in all pertinent matters or areas of concern.
Holds a Bachelor’s Degree or higher, unless substituting relevant coursework or experience.
Demonstrates an understanding and support of Sun Grove Montessori School’s mission and philosophy.
Communicates all pertinent issues to the Department Head and/or the Lead Teacher in a timely manner.
Shows evidence of computer literacy/competency.
Demonstrates the ability to communicate effectively.
Demonstrates computer literacy/competency.
Embraces the school's coaching model by participating in weekly observations, lesson studies, child studies, and being open to being coached and coaching others.
Engages in continual learning and attends classroom and school-wide events.
Assists in teaching all learners in the classroom under the guidance of the Lead Teacher.
Is present with the children, in the classroom, during scheduled periods.
Collaborates with Lead Teacher who provides Specialists with guidelines based on our school-wide curriculum document.
Prepares lessons, as guided, and gathers materials for specialized cultural and language lessons that meet the needs of all learners.
Models positive attitudes and courteous behavior for all children and adults.
Keeps accurate daily, weekly, and monthly record keeping detailing lessons given, curriculum covered, work progress, and observations for each child.
When appropriate, aids in supervision and guidance of students as they are cleaning the environment, ensuring that the environment is left clean and beautiful.
Demonstrates competency to support an educational program based on the individual child.
Models positive attitudes and courteous behavior for all children and adults.
Assists lead teachers in keeping accurate daily, weekly, and monthly record keeping detailing lessons given, curriculum covered, work progress, and observations for each child.
Prepares, with the Lead Teacher, for orientations, showcases, or student/parent nights.
Participates with other team members in orientations, showcases, student/parent nights, open houses, and classroom conferences. In the elementary and middle school environments; participates and assists in the coordination of predetermined day trips, overnights, and extensions throughout the year.
