City of West Melbourne issued the following announcement.
The City of West Melbourne requests submittal of bid proposals for the Parks Maintenance Building Expansion. The project consists of a six-hundred square foot addition to an existing maintenance building. The addition will include a relocated kitchen area, two new accessible bathrooms, and a seating area. The maintenance building will also receive a new roof that encompasses the new and existing structures. Project includes but is not limited to the following items: Selective demolition, rough carpentry, new ceramic tile, new architectural casework, new solid core wood and hollow metal doors, new hollow metal frames, new door hardware, acoustical ceiling tile and grid, resilient flooring, wall base, interior painting, signage, electrical work, and mechanical work.
All bids shall be based on the bid documents, specifications and project drawings included within the bid package. The duration of the contract shall be for 270 days from the issuance of the Notice to Proceed (NTP) to Final Completion, with Substantial Completion within 240 days from NTP. Meeting and submittal dates shall be specified in the delivery schedule.
A pre-bid meeting will be held on Thursday, March 5, 2020 at 2:00 PM at the City Council Chambers, Veterans Memorial Complex, 2285 Minton Road, West Melbourne, Florida 32904. Bidders are STRONGLY encouraged to attend the pre-bid meeting. A bidder’s failure to attend will not disqualify the bidder. However, a bidder’s failure to attend may be considered during the overall evaluation of bids.

Under no circumstances shall any bid offer be accepted after the above-stipulated date and time. All bids will be stamped as to the date and time the bid was submitted. The date and time stamp shall be used to determine the timely basis of all bids. This is an advertised solicitation and the offers will be publicly opened at West Melbourne City Hall located at 2240 Minton Road, 2nd Floor, West Melbourne, Florida 32904 on March 27, 2020 at 2:10 PM.
The supply, delivery, construction, equipment quantity, unit price and total cost amount of the referenced project shall be based on the design drawings and bid documents.
