City of Cape Canaveral issued the following announcement.
The 2020 Cape Canaveral City Council Election Qualifying Period begins Monday at Noon, August 3 and runs through Friday at Noon, August 14. Although City Hall is currently closed to the public due to the COVID-19 Pandemic, individuals interested in getting information or running for City Council (2 Seats) may contact the City Clerk’s Office/Qualifying Officer.
Prior to opening a campaign account, individuals must complete and file Form DS-DE 9 (rev. 10/10), Appointment of Campaign Treasurer and Designation of Campaign Depository for Candidates, with the City Clerk’s Office/Qualifying Officer. Please call or email the City Clerk’s Office if you have questions, would like to obtain the City’s Election Packet or make an appointment at 321-868-1220 or cityclerk@cityofcapecanaveral.org.
