With the support of Congressman Bill Posey (R-Rockledge) the House passed legislation (S.J. Res. 38) introduced by Florida Senator Marco Rubio to overturn a Biden Administration regulation to waive Made in America requirements for building electric vehicle chargers that were included in the 2021 infrastructure bill.
“One of the major points the Biden Administration used to sell their $550 billion infrastructure bill was that it’s Made in America provisions will further spur investment in the United States and help shore up our supply chain,” said Congressman Posey. “It is disappointing to see the Biden Administration is now trying to ditch those requirements and use billions of American taxpayer dollars to support Chinese and other foreign products, making us more dependent on adversaries for our energy needs.”
Last year Congressman Posey led the effort to repeal a Biden Administration rule to allow China to violate our trade laws and dump cheap solar panels, made with forced labor, in the United States, thus undercutting American efforts to get a foothold in the solar market. Posey’s bill passed the House and Senate with bipartisan support only to be vetoed by President Biden.
