City of Palm Bay issued the following announcement.
On October 1, 2020, Republic Services began providing solid waste and recycling service in Palm Bay. As we make the change to the new service, please note the following reminders and helpful information to assist with the transition.
Know Your Collection Schedule
Under the new Republic Services contract, residents will receive twice-a-week garbage collection, once weekly recycling collection, and pickup for bulk and yard waste with no volume restrictions. Solid waste customers were mailed a postcard with individual collection schedule information. The City of Palm Bay also offers a convenient schedule lookup tool online at www.palmbayflorida.org/Republic.
Set Out Procedures
Practicing proper cart placement is key to ensuring timely collection. Carts should be placed curbside by 5:00am on the scheduled service day for pickup. Republic Services trucks require a 16-foot clearance above and a three-foot clearance around each cart to accommodate the automated pickup arm. Please be sure to place your cart(s) one foot away from the curb and at least three feet away from cars, mailboxes, trees, and other items, and leave three feet of space between carts. Finally, carts should be set out with the lids closed and the arrows on the lid pointing toward the street.
Missed Service
If you do not receive collection on your new service day, please contact Republic Services at (321) 989-6030 to report the missed pickup and leave your cart(s) curbside for collection.
