CITY OF COCOA: Cocoa/Rockledge Holiday Parade Cancelled but Holiday Event and Boat Parade Will Continue

Cancelled

City of Cocoa issued the following announcement.

Due to low registration of float participants, the Cocoa/Rockledge Holiday parade hosted by Brevard County Parks and Recreation that was scheduled for Saturday, December 12, 2020 at 3pm has been cancelled this year. The City of Cocoa will still have the Cocoa Holiday Festival on December 12, 2020 from 3-7pm in Riverfront Park and the Historic Cocoa Village Main Street program will be co-hosting the Cocoa Village Holiday Boat Parade along the Indian River beginning at 6:30pm that same night.

Cocoa’s Holiday Festival in Riverfront Park will begin at 3pm and will feature holiday entertainment, kids’ activities, a visit from Santa, a tree lighting ceremony and a holiday movie on the big outdoor screen, Disney’s “Prep & Landing”. The Cocoa Village Holiday Boat Parade proposed route starts at 6 pm near Valencia Dock in Rockledge, traveling port to shore as far north as Sunrise Street in Cocoa, then across the ICW for a pass near Docs Bait House and then over to Riverfront Park in Cocoa. The City of Cocoa will be collecting food donations to support the Central Brevard Sharing Center at the Holiday Festival.

The City of Cocoa will be adhering to CDC Guidelines to protect participants from the spread of the COVID-19 virus. Face masks will be required at the event per City ordinance and attendees will be asked to maintain social distancing. Face masks and hand sanitizer will be available at the event as well.
