UNIVERSITY OF CENTRAL FLORIDA: Ways to Celebrate the Class of 2020

Class

University of Central Florida issued the following announcement.

Commencement is a culmination of the hard work and dedication students put into earning their degree. It is not only a way to recognize their efforts, but to celebrate graduates as they begin to apply the lessons they’ve learned in the classroom to the world beyond academia. And while the pomp and circumstance may look a little different this year, UCF is as proud as ever to honor this fall’s graduating class.

For Graduates

Sign Up for Grad Walk

We may not be able to hold in-person commencement ceremonies right now, but we are offering an opportunity for you to celebrate your big accomplishment on campus. Please check your email to sign up today for a chance to walk across the stage in the Student Union, take photos and celebrate with up to four loved ones and friends. If you have questions or cannot find your email, please contact universityevents@ucf.edu.

Customize Your Commencement Slide

We’ve added some fun options for you to personalize your celebration. Choose a custom background, animation and sticker that will appear on your recognition slide during your virtual ceremony. Plus, you’ll be able to include your name pronunciation to help us get it right. Please check your email for more information, and make this significant milestone a memorable one.

Take Photos at The Bounce House

The stadium will be open Dec. 17 from 1 to 4:30 p.m., so graduates can take photos in their caps and gowns. Please enter through Gates 10 or 17.

#UCFGrad Video Celebrations

Class of 2020, we want to celebrate with you! No matter where or how you’re celebrating, we want to see. So take a video at your virtual commencement, share on social using #UCFGrad and upload it here to be included in a fun commencement video.

Grad Cap Contest

You may not be able to show your cap off at the Addition Financial Arena just yet, but don’t fret. UCF Alumni is hosting a virtual cap contest for the Class of 2020! Share your personality through your grad cap for the opportunity to win fun prizes. Entries can be designed virtually or printed and decorated, so no need to worry if you didn’t order a cap and gown. You can use our grad cap template to enter the contest. Please remember to participate safely by wearing your masks and practice social distancing as you take your photos.

Instagram Filters

We invite you to move the tassel on your cap from the right side to the left to —either plain or with confetti and UCF’s Alma Mater playing. You can also participate in a UCF grad Q&A and reflect on what you love most about being a Knight. Simply save your preferred effect to your Instagram account, take a video using the effect and tap the screen to move your tassel from right to left. Be sure to tag @ucf.edu so we can share your accomplishment!
